Russian trumpet

A b trumpet of Russian origin, with a good tone, but poor valves that newer worked because of poor manufacture. The future (Russian) owner had attempted to make it work by melting stearin into the valve bearings, partly with success. In general the instrument appears made in a hurry, and the materials are poor. Contemporary instruments of Russian origin made for export were mcuh better; this was not an export instrument!
