A Crystallophone is anything that makes sound by the means of (crystal) glas.
Here a number of wine glasess make sound when rubbed with a wet finger. The
instrument is obviously selfmade; under the drapings remains of straps for
tools can be found. The box used to be a toolbox. At one side of the box, the
remains of an inscription ca be found:
O. Lassen (or G. Lassen)
?____ro S____?
?_de___?
The inscription is made with a pencil directly on the lacquer.
When restoring this instrument, care must be taken to leave bent nails bent,
and allow the laq to run a little here and there. The instrument was newer new,
but assembled of used parts. And so it is going to stay.
