Tuba Curva

This instrument is a selfmade replica of the historic Tuba Curva, an instrument type dating back to Cristi Birth. This replica was made out from visual observations of museum instruments that I was not allowed to measure. It can play more than one should believe of a brasswind instrument without valves. It is tuned in F, but the long narrow pipe combined with the small mouthpiece (trumpet mouthpiece) makes the tuba unable to play its own keynote. It just manages the first harmonic overtone, and because of the natural tones becoming frequent at rising tone frequency, the tuba can play up to 12 different tones, all without valves..
